Wireless printer help?

I am connected to a network which has a printer with it (on my Mac)...like the printer isnt wireless but its with the network (if that makes sense). I know it works because my dad printed something but he has windows and i have a Mac so he cant help me much. How do i add the printer to my list of printers.I am connected to the network because the internet is working.
