I need help with Mysql!!?

Hey guys, so I have the source code for this game server. When I start the server it says that it could not connect to a Mysql database. There is a .sql file supplied with it, and I need help setting up mysql and using that sql to make a database. P.S I am running this on a Mac. Thanks for your help!
